Virtual FOLA 40 Bike Ride

The 4th Annual FOLA 40 bike ride is still on! But because of coronavirus, we are going “virtual” to protect our cyclists and volunteers. Come ride one of our great trails on Sunday, November 8, 2020:

·West Orange Trail

·South Lake Trail/Hancock Road Trail

·Lake Apopka Loop Trail on the North Shore Restoration

Area (gravel)

Unfortunately, there will be no formal start, no t-shirts, and no organized party at Crooked Can this year. But we are already looking forward to a blow-out bash for the 5th FOLA 40 in 2021.

The FOLA 40 is our primary annual fundraising event, so all we request is a tax deductible donation of $25 to Friends of Lake Apopka (FOLA) so we may:

·advocate for the continued restoration of Lake Apopka

·raise awareness about our amazing trail systems around the lake

·continue advocating to "Connect the Trails" into a safe 40-mile loop around our lake

As always, because we ride on Veterans Day weekend, FOLA will support a local Veterans organization with a portion of your registration fee to thank our vets. To register, go to raceroster.com and search for FOLA 40.

Stay safe and, as my friend Dennis Jones says, "Enjoy the ride."
